Short answer

Without insurance, the Wegovy pill costs $149 a month for the 1.5 mg dose, $199 for 4 mg and $299 for 9 mg and 25 mg through Novo Nordisk's NovoCare program, so the first three months on the label's dose schedule cost $647. Wegovy pill cost by dose and month

The Wegovy pill is a once-daily semaglutide tablet. Novo Nordisk announced its FDA approval on December 22, 2025, as the first oral GLP-1 approved for weight management.[5] The label starts everyone on 1.5 mg and steps the dose up every 30 days to the 25 mg maintenance dose, which lowers the risk of stomach side effects.[7] Here is what each step costs at the NovoCare self-pay price:[1][7]

Days on the pill Dose Self-pay price for that month Total paid so far
Days 1 to 30 1.5 mg $149 $149
Days 31 to 60 4 mg $199 $348
Days 61 to 90 9 mg $299 $647
Day 91 onward 25 mg (maintenance) $299 $299 a month after that

One month is one bottle of 30 tablets. NovoCare labels the pill pricing a limited time offer with no end date shown, and says eligibility and restrictions apply.[1] TrumpRx also lists the Wegovy pill at $149 a month.[2] Your clinician may keep you on a lower dose longer, which changes the total.

Wegovy shot cost without insurance

The Wegovy pen is a weekly injection, and one month is one box of 4 pens.[1] The label steps the dose up every 4 weeks: 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg, then 1.7 mg, reaching the 1.7 mg or 2.4 mg maintenance dose from week 17.[7] Every one of those doses costs $349 a month self-pay, and Wegovy HD 7.2 mg costs $399.[1]

New patients to the Wegovy Savings offer or NovoCare home delivery pay $199 for each of the first two months of 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg, through December 31, 2026.[1] That makes the first four months on the pen $1,096 ($199, $199, $349, $349) for a new patient. TrumpRx lists the Wegovy pen at $199 a month against an original price of $1,349.[2]

Wegovy cost at Costco and other pharmacies

NovoCare offers home delivery or pickup at a local pharmacy of your choice at the self-pay price.[1] A check of Costco’s pharmacy price tool on October 29, 2026 found the Wegovy pen at $349 a month for 1 mg to 2.4 mg and the 9 mg and 25 mg pill at $299, the same as NovoCare.[8] Confirm the price with the pharmacy before you pay.

Wegovy cost with insurance

If your commercial plan covers Wegovy, the savings offer lets you pay as little as $25 a month for the pill or pen, with savings capped at $100 a month. Government beneficiaries are excluded.[1] If your plan’s copay is high, you pay whatever is left after the $100 monthly savings. Ask your plan whether Wegovy is covered for your diagnosis and whether it needs prior authorization.

Wegovy with Medicare

The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge covers the Wegovy injection or tablet for weight loss. You pay $50 for a one-month supply, and that payment does not count toward your drug plan deductible or yearly out-of-pocket limit.[3] The Bridge runs from July 1, 2026 through December 31, 2027.[4]

To qualify you need Medicare Part D coverage, must be at least 18, must not already get a GLP-1 drug through your drug plan, and must not have type 2 diabetes, moderate to severe sleep apnea or fatty liver disease (your plan may cover a GLP-1 for those). You also need a BMI of 35 or higher, or 30 or higher with certain heart failure, hard to control high blood pressure or stage 3a or higher kidney disease, or 27 or higher with prediabetes or a past heart attack, stroke or blocked arteries in the legs or arms.[3]

Wegovy vs Ozempic

Both are semaglutide from Novo Nordisk. Wegovy is approved for weight management, while Ozempic is a type 2 diabetes drug whose pen tops out at 2 mg and costs $349 to $499 a month self-pay.[1][9][10] See the Ozempic cost per month guide for its pen and pill prices, and talk with a clinician about which drug, if any, fits you.

Wegovy list price

Novo Nordisk lists $1,349.02 per package for the Wegovy pill, pen and Wegovy HD pen.[1] The company announced that the list price of Wegovy 2.4 mg injection and 25 mg tablets will fall to $675 starting January 1, 2027, about 50% lower, and that this does not change self-pay prices.[6]

How to pay less for Wegovy

  1. Check insurance first. With commercial coverage, the savings offer can bring Wegovy to $25 a month.[1]
  2. Check the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge. If you qualify, the copay is $50 a month.[3]
  3. Ask about the new patient pen price. New patients pay $199 for each of the first two months of the 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg pen through December 31, 2026.[1]
  4. Compare brand and other options. The cheapest weight loss injections guide lists Wegovy and Zepbound cash prices side by side, and the compounded semaglutide cost guide explains why those products are not FDA approved. Your clinician decides which form and dose fit you.
